Preserve the beauty and integrity of your natural stone surfaces with professional sealing
Natural stone needs the right sealer for the right stone
Natural stone is porous: it soaks up moisture, stains, and acidic substances if left unprotected. Over time, that leads to discolouration, surface damage, and freeze-thaw cracking during Ontario winters. Sealing creates an invisible barrier that keeps those elements out while preserving the look and feel of the stone.
Different stones need different sealers: what works on limestone won’t necessarily work on flagstone or slate. We identify the right product for your specific surface and apply it correctly, so you get protection that actually lasts.
What sealing does for your stone
Creates a protective barrier that prevents oil, wine, food, and other substances from penetrating and permanently staining your stone.
Repels water and moisture that can cause discoloration, efflorescence, freeze-thaw damage, and structural deterioration in natural stone.
Enriches and deepens the natural colors and patterns of your stone while maintaining its authentic texture and finish.
Significantly extends the life of your natural stone by protecting against weathering, erosion, and surface degradation over time.
Guards against etching and damage from acidic substances like citrus, vinegar, and harsh cleaning products that can harm natural stone.
Sealed stone is far easier to clean and maintain, requiring less frequent deep cleaning and resisting dirt accumulation.
The right prep and the right sealer for your specific stone
We start by carefully assessing your stone type and its condition to choose the sealer best suited for it. Next, the surface is professionally cleaned with commercial-grade pressure washing equipment, removing dirt, stains, organic growth, and residues without causing any damage. The stone is then allowed to dry completely, as moisture can prevent proper sealer penetration.
Once prepared, your choice of natural or colour enhanced sealer designed specifically for your stone type is applied evenly, ensuring deep penetration into the stone’s pores while leaving no surface residue. As the sealer cures, it bonds within the stone to provide long-lasting protection.

Everything you need to know about natural stone sealing
We recommend sealing natural stone every 2-5 years depending on the type of stone and its location. Dense stones may last 3-5 years, while porous stones benefit from more frequent sealing every 2-4 years.
Most residential natural stone projects can be sealed in 3-8 hours, including cleaning and sealer application. The surface is typically ready for light use within 4-6 hours, though we recommend waiting 24 hours before heavy use.
The ideal time is late spring through early fall when temperatures are consistently above 14°C.
We use penetrating sealers that can maintain the natural look, or enhance the color of your stone. These sealers absorb into the stone rather than sitting on the surface, preserving the original texture and finish. Sealer can slightly enhance color depth, which many homeowners prefer as it brings out the stone's natural beauty.
